Okay – it’s name dropping time! A few years back, I had Trixter’s Steve Brown set up a recording studio for my boss. I mentioned that I had a producer friend at VH-1, and that there might be some interest in a Trixter reunion special like what the music channel was airing at the time (Bands Reuinted). In fact, a Vixen reunion special had aired probably the weekend before, so the idea was pretty fresh in my mind. Steve Brown had just released a 40 Ft. Ringo album, which is still one of my favorite rock releases today. And the reaction to the Trixter reunion hook-up with VH-1?ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. None at all!
So a few years later – what happens? Yes, boys and girls, Trixter is back and playing summer shows. And the guys are pretty smart, as they know their limits and keep things to special shows and festivals instead of trying to tour for three months in clubs on their own. And Steve Brown does seem to have a very cool recording studio. Plus you can hear his voice from time-to-time in local radio spots on NJ rock station WDHA. The band actually got back together in 2007, and three years later is still going! Good for them.
So if you want to turn back the clock to 1988, and get it good from Trixter (or let them give it to you GOOD), the band is on the road for these select dates (clipped from Steve Brown’s monthly e-mail newsletter):
